About Me
Hello I'm Sean. I am a teacher of Vedic mantra meditation based in Dublin, Ireland. For years I was a professional actor with a career that took me to Broadway, London's West End, as well as TV, films and commercials.
In my early 40's I started to notice the impact of my career. The high stakes, performance anxiety and continual scrutiny wore me down and no amount of sleep or rest gave me recovery. After years of self help, therapy and experimenting with meditation on my own nothing met the need for relief. I was struggling with anxiety, depression, confidence and motivation.
In 2019 I connected with a friend who had started meditating and the change in him was so profoundly obvious, I immediately took his suggestion to learn Vedic meditation.
From the first day I was impressed that I could meditate so effortlessly. But it was the shifts in my overall perception which rooted me in the practice.
I was less agitated, I made decisions with less doubt, I recovered from anger more quickly and I was generally less reactive. My emotional state allowed me to enjoy the rest I had been missing. Because of this I was a much better companion to myself and others.
After 5 years of meditation and continued study of Advaita Vedanta I was certain I wanted to become an initiator and pass on this tradition of meditation to others. I teach with respect to the origins and efficacy of Vedic philosophy and the manifold ways this sacred knowledge can be adapted to our busy modern lives.
It is a great privilege for me to share this practice with others. To see their faces when they open their eyes after the first meditation is priceless. People are delighted when they see how easy it is and how good it can feel.
Among those who teach meditation we say we are offering the keys to freedom from suffering.
I tell my students that I can teach you meditation but only you can give the practice to yourself. Our lives hold incredible value and meaning. Meditation allows me to see that for myself.
Come see the view for yourself.
I give all thanks to the masters who came before me as well as the many great teachers in the tradition who fostered my growth.
Jai Guru Deva!

What the Practice Is

- Ancient Roots: The mechanics of the technique are drawn from the timeless, universal principles of Vedic tradition, allowing the mind to naturally settle and become quiet.
- Practical & Independent: Designed for modern daily life, it requires a small commitment of 20 minutes twice a day. You will be a self sufficient meditator!
- Ongoing Support: Receive guidance, knowledge and check-ins as needed.

Our Exchange
The Modern Dakshina
Historically, the ancient Vedic tradition practiced Dakshina — an offering of gratitude made from the student in support of the teacher, in exchange for lifelong knowledge. Dakshina was never a fixed retail price; it was an offering — an honest exchange of value, reflecting generosity, not means and ensuring financial barriers never became an obstacle to inner peace.
To honour this ancient equity framework in our modern economy, Anama Meditation utilises the Green Bottle Sliding Scale Method. We trust our community to review the framework below and self-select the payment tier that genuinely aligns with their current financial privilege and access.
